Fading Light: A Star Wars Story, Prologue

-About 800 ABY, a New Republic, a New Jedi Order, a New Sith Empire

    Just because it was new didn't mean it was different. The same old wars were waged, just under new names, and with new weapons.  

    The Jedi, who had long ago reclaimed their mantle on Coruscant stood fast against the advancing Darkness.  Jedi Consulars, ensconced within the walls of the Temple worked to find methods of maintaining peace, to preserve life, when possible, or to oversee the most minimal destruction when necessary.  Guardians deployed to fight the newest war on the front line, or to protect those high value targets that the Sith were so fond of eliminating.  Jedi Sentinels however posted along the borders of Republic territory, as well as within the Outer Rim, and other neutral territories when they weren't raiding Sith targets too difficult or too dangerous for others.

    The Sith maintained a strong foothold in the Old Worlds, Korriban, Dromund Kass, Ziost, all hosted the pinnacles of Sith power and the Dark Side.  The pragmatic Warriors of Sith tradition beat down the halls of those they sought to crush underfoot, leaving little behind but the singed wounds of their blades.  Sith Inquisitor's, dealing in their twisting of the Force sought destruction of a grander scale, weaving their own will into the Force itself.

    The shadow of Darkness had been halted by the glare of the Light, the two now caught in an eternal stalemate.  As quickly as legends were born, pushing forward for their cause, they just as quickly died, a brief spark in a much larger blaze.  Such sparks were few, and of little significance.  Even this single soul would be but a raindrop to a flood.
